NMIXX – Funky Glitter Christmas

To kick us off, we have NMIXX’s “Funky Glitter Christmas” where the title of the song reflects perfectly throughout, with a funky sound, glitter thrown around and Christmas mentioned throughout! The music video captures the septet at a sleepover party, where the girls are all having fun dressing up, decorating, and singing carols. There’s a feel-good vibe in this song, which is very reminiscent of enjoying Christmas parties as a school-kid.

Weeekly – Happy Christmas

Next up, we have Weeekly with “Happy Christmas!” This song has bells jingling throughout and is very much calmer compared to the other songs on the list. This track is about spending the day with a special someone, and lyrically, the song portrays a positive message, expressing how special Christmas time is as it’s only once a year, with lyrics such as: “The worries in your heart, don’t think about it today.”

SUPER JUNIOR – Celebrate

18 years strong, SUPER JUNIOR have made a comeback with the second Volume of their 11th album The Road. This song is more of a heartfelt track, about being grateful for the memories created. The music video features three different generations of a family, celebrating in their own ways before all coming together at the end for a family photo. Although the song may not have the Christmassy jingles or Christmas hats featured in the other songs, the synth-pop sounds go perfectly with the snowy settings, making this a proper feel-good Christmas ballad.

NCT DREAM – Candy

The next song on this list may sound familiar to 1st generation K-Pop fans, as it’s actually a cover of H.O.T.’s “Candy”. As part of NCT DREAM’s Christmas EP, 26 years on from its original release, NCT DREAM have given the all-time classic a modern twist yet have still re-captured many aspects of the original song. Even though this may not necessarily be a Christmas song lyrically, the septet still throws in several Christmas scenes and jingle sounds to bring some festive vibes!

Red Velvet X aespa – Beautiful Christmas

The final song in our Christmas list is one which is truly a Christmas treat from SM Entertainment — a collaboration between Red Velvet and aespa. Despite having strikingly different concepts, these groups have come together to produce this super catchy Christmas tune, with lyrics from different traditional Christmas songs thrown in, such as “Jingle Bells” and “Holy Night.” Visually, the music video is as Christmassy as it could get, with snow-laden Christmas trees, presents everywhere, and red Christmas dresses for all!

We hope you enjoy these Christmas releases as much as we did, and we hope you all have a happy, safe, and healthy festive break!
