Going Seventeen has helped to set the standard for idol variety shows. Not only is it loved by Carats, the group’s fanbase, but has also gained attention for securing its own fandom of non-Carats called Cubics.

If you have no idea where to start with this lengthy series, here are some of the best Going Seventeen episodes to help you slip into the diamond life.

10. Don’t Lie

This will be possibly the most intense game of Mafia you will ever watch. The group have already filmed three different versions of the game with the stakes being raised each time. What makes these Mafia games special is the group’s dynamic; you’ll quickly pick up on each member’s personality such as Jeonghan’s obsession with cheating and Hoshi’s unexpectedly good deduction skills making this a great way to start your Carat journey.

9. Insomnia Zero

Insomnia Zero sees each member of Seventeen taking turns in trying to maintain a low heart rate whilst the others often tell quite embarrassing stories about each other. This is the perfect way to find out more about the boys’ past and the experiences that have helped to make their bond so unbreakable.

8. Kickball

Now while watching 13 boys play kickball for fun may not seem like the most entertaining way to spend an hour, when it’s SEVENTEEN playing it definitely is the best way to pass time. In classic SEVENTEEN style, their version of kickball contains blow-up dinosaur costumes, scuba diving flippers and endless bickering.

7. Tribal Games

Split into two teams with Seungkwan as the brilliant host, the members go head to head in some of the most famous variety games such as the “whisper challenge”. It may seem like the boys are struggling on purpose for comedic effect but Carat’s know they are pretty terrible at these games in spite of their incredible teamwork on stage.

6. The Tag

Originally horror content, Seventeen managed to turn this extreme game of tag into a barrel of laughs. Which members will escape unharmed? Which members will crumble from fear? You’ll have to watch to find out.

5. How to Eat Rice the Perfect Way

In this content, Seventeen tries to answer the age-old question: what is the best way to eat rice? The members’ creativity shines through in this episode with the boys going to great lengths to prove that their way of eating rice is perfect. Hoshi’s mum also makes an appearance, which makes for a heartwarming watch. Bonus: possibly the weirdest play performed by DK and Jeonghan.

4. Going SVT x MMGT

It was the collaboration that Carats had been waiting for. This episode combines all of Going Seventeen’s iconic concepts with the addition of MMGT’s host Jaejae. Jaejae’s dynamic with the members, especially Seungkwan, is intoxicating and she’s able to keep up with the boys’ humour. This episode is the perfect introduction to the Going series.

3. TTT

From water sports to camping, these episodes have no set script. TTT allows viewers to watch SEVENTEEN relax and have fun without the pressure of making good content. The authentic feel of TTT gives fans a chance to gain an insight into the members’ personalities outside of work. After watching these episodes, you’ll want to become friends with SEVENTEEN too.

2. Escape Singing Room

From the depths of the archive, this is one of the first episodes of Going Seventeen, but is still filled with the boys’ classic humour. Watch the members slowly lose their minds as they sing for their lives in this chaotic karaoke room. The only way they can escape is by obtaining the perfect score of 100 points. Will they ever break free?

1. Four-Wheeled Rider

Imagine the game Kart Rider but in real life. Seventeen have a need for speed in this episode mixed in with their competitiveness and sometimes questionable morals. From speed races to item rounds, Seventeen highlight their youthful side throughout this content. The stakes are high as no member wants to be left to clean the group’s car as punishment.

Going Seventeen is the best way to release stress as the members are just full of joy and laughter. The series highlights the boys’ brotherhood by sharing not only some of their best moments together but also their personal difficulties. You are guaranteed to feel closer to the group after watching them enjoy their time together through a series of weird challenges and games - and you may even be converted into a Carat!
