[Song Review] OMEGA X “Dream”
South Korean boy group OMEGA X have dropped their new single “Dream”, which the 11 members say they have dedicated to their fandom known as FOR X.

The group have said the song aims to provide comfort to those that have constantly shown them love and support throughout their idol careers, particularly during difficult times.
OMEGA X has been open about the struggles that they and FOR X have experienced over the past year. The song acknowledges this through lyrics such as: “I count the marks from hit and hurt / Learn to stand up from falling / If you ever get a little closer / I think they can see it”.
The track also reminds listeners that the group are thankful for the second chance they have been given at achieving their idol dream: “I’m getting happy / On a stage full of lights / Singing a song like this / I’ve been dreaming about this moment”. All 11 members have been a part of other K-Pop groups or Korean entertainment survival shows before joining OMEGA X.
“Dream” has been composed by OMEGA X member Hangyeom with all members participating in the lyric writing process.
The group’s fandom, FOR X, have been anticipating the official release of “Dream” for some months as the group teased the track during a performance at the 30th Hanteo Music Awards in February of this year. As part of the preview, the unreleased track was paired with synchronised choreography and received positive responses from FOR X.
“Dream” is the second release from the group this year. In March they released a collection of three songs for the K-drama A Shoulder to Cry On, which included “Come Together”, “너를 다시 (You, Again)”, and “쉬어가도 돼 (Comfort)". The drama also stars members Jaehan and Yechan, marking their first lead acting roles.
Since the release of “Dream”, fans have taken to social media to express their delight at the track being released.
One fan said: “the lyrics hit hard. OMEGA X thank you so much for everything”.
Another mentioned the sentimentality of the track: “the fan song, dream, was written by OMEGA X themselves. Thank you ox, I appreciate you a lot”.
“Listening to Dream just makes me cry 24/7 because I remember the emotions when OMEGA X performed it at HMA and how it felt seeing them again after months”, said another dedicated FOR X.
OMEGA X has been spending time connecting with fans over the past few months and as part of this will be featured on After School Club on May 2nd to promote their new release.
OMEGA X consists of Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Junghoon, Hyuk, and Yechan. The group debuted in 2021 and has quickly built up a fanbase in what is often considered a competitive idol industry.
