While travelling the world for their ZENERATION II tour and showcasing their many talents, THE BOYZ have been able to pick up some new fans. If you’ve recently joined THE BOYZ’s fanbase, THE B (pronounced Deobi), their lengthy discography might seem daunting to you. But don’t panic, as THE BOYZ have such an impressive range that you’ll be able to find a track that’s perfect for any occasion or to suit your taste.

As THE BOYZ recently celebrated their 7th anniversary in December, 2024, it’s a great time to look back at the many impressive tracks the group has released throughout their career.

1. “Insanity”

While THE BOYZ’s fifth mini-album CHASE was led by the theatrical title track, “The Stealer,” the EP’s b-sides also deserve some appreciation. The techno-focused instrumentals throughout “Insanity” are more toned down than the group’s usual songs but this allows the members to show off their talent. Main Rapper Sunwoo stands out in the second verse as he elongates his lines and when paired with his unique vocal colour, the track is impossible not to replay.

2. “Rat In The Trap”

In this special unit song, the members who usually lead the group’s vocals Sangyeon, Kevin, Jacob, New and Haknyeon get their time to shine. Rather than showing off their vocals with high notes and impressive belting, the members focus on deeper and more subtle sounds creating a sultry feel to “Rat In The Trap.” The electric guitar riff in the song only adds to the coolness that oozes from it.

3. “Honey”

“Honey” is another special unit song that’s a must-listen for new Deobis. Eric and Sunwoo combine their youthful rapping skills to create a chic and catchy track. “Honey” uses a mostly empty backing track giving the duo little to hide behind making their confidence in their talent evident. The hip-hop verses let the excitement build up for the repetitive but addictive chorus.

4. “Dancing till we drop”

If you’re looking for a song that perfectly encompasses summer vibes, “Dancing Till We Drop” is the one for you. While the THRILL_ING EP’s title track “THRILL RIDE” is upbeat and fast-paced, this song takes on a more toned-down approach to a summer smash hit with its simple and relaxed instrumentals. The track would be perfect to listen to on a calm summer evening with friends.

5. “Survive The Night”

Being known for their amazing vocals, THE BOYZ also have many ballads for new fans to sink their teeth into. The lyrics hold a sweet sentiment that will offer comfort to anyone who listens: ‘Sinking into the night // Between endless darkness // I drown in your thoughts and breathe to survive // It became my dream // During my time in my small day // While waiting for you who I can’t see, survive, survive.’ The ethereal synthesised guitar instrumental throughout “Survive The Night” only adds to the track’s soothing nature.

6. “Make or Break”

We’re going back to what THE BOYZ do best with the peppy song “Make or Break.” The members’ infectious personalities come through on this track thanks to their spirited vocals. The use of repetition in the chorus means it’s easy to sing along making you feel like you’re a part of the group. If you need an extra boost in your day, this song is like drinking a strong espresso in the morning.

7. “Salty”

The slow start to “Salty” makes the song seem unassuming—but don’t skip it as you’re in for a wild ride. The tame opening allows the track to build up to the techno-focused chorus. The rest of the track is high energy with hints of retro instrumentals. When paired with the sleek and stylish choreography, “Salty” is arguably one of THE BOYZ’s best tracks.

8. “Diamond Life”

If you’re a fan of songs that sound like they could be a part of a badass movie soundtrack, “Diamond Life” has got you covered. The use of autotune on the lyrics: ‘on my, on my way’ throughout the song is enough to get anyone hyped up and the high notes in the chorus add a dramatic effect. No THE BOYZ track is complete without Eric and Sunwoo bouncing off each other during their rap verse.

9. “Fantasize”

“Fantasize” is another track that can easily lift your spirits. A light guitar riff opens the song and is paired with Sunwoo’s deep vocals to lull the listener into a false sense of calm. The dramatic pre-chorus led by Sangyeon and Jacob sets up the excitement in the chorus. The simple yet poppy chorus is impossible not to sing along to. “Fantasize” needs to be added to your dance party playlist right now!

10. “One Dance”

From their second Japanese mini album, “One Dance” is the perfect song for people who like slower melodies but aren’t a fan of typically emotional ballads. The jazzy piano backing track blends well with the members’ sweet vocals. A funky deep bassline keeps the energy of the song up and makes “One Dance” an instant mood booster. On top of all of that, who doesn’t love being serenaded by THE BOYZ?

No matter when you become a fan of THE BOYZ, it’s undeniable that they have an impressive discography that spans multiple genres. Let us know in the comments what track got you into THE BOYZ and which B-side you think deserves some extra attention!
